Missy has been telling stories as long as she could talk. She acted out stories with her dolls that she would write during recess. She studied creative writing at Southern Utah University and the University of Utah.
Missy needed to change direction after the birth of her daughter, where she worked in technical support and user experience design. She used these skills to transition into game development and design. Missy transitioned to teaching with Unity Learn at YouthCity and American Preparatory Academy. She became a Certified ADHD Life Coach while teaching through the International ADHD Coach Training Center. Missy taught her knowledge of storytelling and game design until her doctor diagnosed her with fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition. She then moved her efforts to work one on one with autistic kids to help them explore their creativity with Alternative Behavior Strategies. When her doctor diagnosed her with functional neurological disorder, Missy started Miss Geek Bunny.
She specializes in romance, mystery, and fantasy genres along with tabletop role-playing games. She offers sensitivity reading for asexual, demisexual, polyamory, lesbian, and queer platonic relationships. Missy also provides sensitivity reading for neurodivergenct, disabled, chronically ill, or trauma scarred characters. She blends her coach training with her skills in storytelling to provide a thorough writing coaching service to help fix issues both in the writing process and in the writing itself. She writes various fiction under her pen name Ginny A Black.
